Shogun 2 - Failed to join game: No response from Host
This is the only total war game that this occurs in. I can play multiplayer just fine in all the other titles. This error message pops up for 100% of multiplayer games.

Yeah. Go to Steam\SteamApps\common\Total_War_Shogun_2\data. Delete all of the .packs.

Then go to AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2. Delete all folders EXCEPT "army_setups", "avatar", "replays", "save_games", "save_games_multiplayer", and "screenshots".

Now open up steam, verify the integrity of Shogun 2's game cache, let it download, then run Shogun.
my friend restarted his router and that fixed it for him. try that first because its easy haha

That's only one of the possible issues. My fix doesn't take that long either though, takes like 2 minutes.

Damn it Combat Carl, you could have told us deleting those pack files made us have to download 19GB of files... thats several hours for some, not 2 minutes.

Sorry man, I meant it takes two minutes of actual effort >.<

do both have pc or mac ..no crosstalk

same mod and same version number is allso required

( if still not working, then you maybe have a firewall problem or router problem or antivirus program that block it check allowed list )

Hey guys I did vast testing on this issue on my end, and was able to come up with a solution. I haven't tested it on other games but, manually renewing my DHCP lease seemed to fix the issue.

If you dont know how to do this, open up the command prompt and type in the following 2 commands.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

In basic terms this is reestablishing your connection among many other things to your router.

In addition to this I also made sure that Shogun 2 was in the list on my firewall, and an allowed application on my antivirus.
