anywhay try quick battles, if this occurs also there you are in trouble and i have no idea how to resolve that :(
Yeah. Go to Steam\SteamApps\common\Total_War_Shogun_2\data. Delete all of the .packs.
Then go to AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2. Delete all folders EXCEPT "army_setups", "avatar", "replays", "save_games", "save_games_multiplayer", and "screenshots".
Now open up steam, verify the integrity of Shogun 2's game cache, let it download, then run Shogun.
That's only one of the possible issues. My fix doesn't take that long either though, takes like 2 minutes.
same mod and same version number is allso required
( if still not working, then you maybe have a firewall problem or router problem or antivirus program that block it check allowed list )
If you dont know how to do this, open up the command prompt and type in the following 2 commands.
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
In basic terms this is reestablishing your connection among many other things to your router.
In addition to this I also made sure that Shogun 2 was in the list on my firewall, and an allowed application on my antivirus.
