My game won't launch. Anyone know how to fix this? (FIXED)
I press play, and then the total war launcher comes up and I press play for shogun 2. The launcher closes and nothing happens. I've already verified integrity of game files. I haven't had this problem before. I also just installed Fall of The Samurai if that matters.

Any fix?

In this order, do the following.

1 - Unsubscribe from all mods

2 - Uninstall game on steam

3 - Delete the folder found here (replace UserName with your user name) C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2 as well as the folder it takes you to when in steam library you right click the game > manage > browse local files.

4 - Re install the game on steam

5 - Re subscribe to all mods

6 - If the game still doesnt properly launch, you may need to manually set your game resolution in the Nvidia GeForce experience (or whatever you are using) settings.

If none of that fixes your problem, hopefully someone else can help you. Best of luck

I finished doing this. It still isn't working.

I opened the game files and launched Shogun2.retail and it worked. I think the problem is with the Total War launcher. Is there any fix for that?

I tried to make sure the launcher was allowed by my firewall but I can't even find a launcher app on my computer.

Sometimes it takes a minute or two to load, even on good PC's- for me the screen goes black for a minute then it loads

Also the problem with this is that even though I can launch it from the game files, I can't actually play the game. There's no option for me to start a campaign.

I got it fixed, I had my steam running in compatibility mode for Windows 7, and I disabled that.
