I cannot build nanban trade ports
I playing as Otomo clan, so I am christian from beginning and I have such nanban port in my capital region, but later in game I cannot build them for some reason. Why? Is it suppose to b eonly one in whole country? Is there any hidden requirements for it? Or maybe it is just a bug?

You can only have one nanban port. You can gain more if you capture them from others, but you can only build one yourself.

If you want the nanban trade port in a different province, you first have to destroy the one in your home province, then build the replacement in the province you desire.

I play in Polish, so I will tell you what you can see. I have cursor on trade port, you can see that I can only upgrade it to military port. There is no option to build nanban trade port.

I am playing as Otomo so I had christianity and rifle infantry from beginning, as well as one nanban trade port. I don't think any event will show up. Or am I wrong?

Thank you. There is crucial missing information in game about that you can build only one nanban trade port.

You can have multiple if you let your nanban settlement be captured by rebels, then build a nanban port in a different settlement and later re-conquer the initial settlement with the first nanban port.

That's very nice exploit, thank you!

The Japanese were very insular and didn't want the European barbarians roaming their lands. They allowed them a port to trade in, and that was about it for most of them. They were not permitted to pull into any harbour they chose, which is I get what the game is trying to emulate.

The 1 Nanban port build limit also helps prevent clans from spamming them. Otherwise I imagine the AI would make every port a Nanban port and then end up either rebelling themselves into oblivion or going Christian.

Even a single one seems enough if a clan isn't large. In the campaign I finished yesterday, the Chosokabe built one and turned Christian from that.

I always build one when playing as the Chosokabe. They need the extra trade route as they only have three ports on their island. But I counter the Christianity by building Buddhist religious buildings in neighbouring provinces.
