What's the most balanced unit size for Fall of the Samurai?

Is it small? Medium? Large? Ultra?

Pretty sure that large is the default. I think they're all mostly balanced in terms of how the battles play out, but I've always been concerned about castles, because the castles don't change sizes as far as I know.

Do you know if the damage that towers deal scales with unit size?

Considering only the first line of any ranged unit would fire when placed on castle defenses, as well as vanilla only allowing the first rank of musketeers to fire by default;
I'd say that smaller units sizes will generally favor defenders, and larger units sizes favoring attackers.
That being said, including how older times didn't have huge armies with 10k men every battle, I'd say Medium would be most fitting.
