Best Yari Samurai Clan?

I like spears,so what clan with the best starting position for yari samurai?

I don't think there are any clans with better yari samurais than others, but with spear ashigarus I'd say Oda or Ikko Ikki.

ikko ikki ashigaru deal no damages...without exp or upgrades
they have better moral and hp(numbers) but lower defence and attack...

oda are stronger in attack and defense, but wont hold the line if you make a false move

Oda ashigaru are unbeatable. I have had full ashigaru armies defeat armies that were mostly samurai, as Oda. Playing on legendary one time against Oda, one of the spear ashigaru units defeated 3 of mine straight up. They are beast. And Oda does start with a yari dojo...

But then again, yari ashigaru completely obliterate yari samurai in everything but speed and arrow absorption, which isnt very important if you play correctly anyway xD


Also, there is no faction that has better yari samurai, there are only better ashigaru, better katana samurai, better bows and better monks when it comes to infantry. :)
I guess even CA knew yari samurai would be almost useless hehehe

Yeah, even CA know that samurai using their most unbiqitous weapon would be nearly uselss, but that doesn't mean they should make a special unit for it. The Katana was considered a sidearm and dueling weapon. It was often used in battle, but the Yari would be used in EVERY battle by samurai

Someone make a mod that give the Takeda and Ashikaga better yari samurai.

Some clans have stats that affect YARI SAMURAI in m i n o r ways.

If I remember correctly:

1) Oda spear recruits gets a bonus to their experience. As I understand it, this includes the samurai. But really, Oda should be played using primarily (if not exclusively) ashigaru.

2) All Date units have a charge bonus which also benefit the yari samurai. But since they are not exactly shock troops anyway, the effect isn't really worth counting.

3) Some Hattori units have a kisho ability allowing them to hide better on the battelfield. But I can't recall if it includes the yari samurai.

(4) If you want yari samurai on horseback, there is the Takeda obviously. But I don't think that is what you are asking for.

Mori clan in the late game can have a good navy,and secure the raw silk,so you can make yari master dojo.
