All troops rout after loosing 20-30 troops
In my game everytime my troops lose 20-30 men they all start routing and after 1-2 cards rout my entire army starts a chain reaction of routing and i lose to the ai army that is half my size

sounds also you play with minimum army size, and depend on chock attack or lack of general aura area

Nope, I play the normal size i think 100-150 units and I have only diplomacyfix mod and 12 turns a year

see army size in setup, if lesser then ultra size, then it will adjust to your setting and flee alot sooner , and full army size is ashigaru spear men is 200 and ashigaru bow men is 160 if we talking about vanilla S2

ps.
and that why many of us, dont play with low settings or players with such settings, game seem to change and dont follow % to units that flee,

example is 200 unit that is apox 35-50 units left before flee depend on how fast moral was effect but
then this is a 100 units size they still flee apox with 50 units and not then 25 units if we calc the % of size in this,

sorry im not a expert on it because i dont play with lesser size army , and i dont want to.

maybe other can explan this alot better, or know better about it.

ps.
dont see this as a critic on your settings, its more a issue with i know what my units can moster in a battle and know then they are in trouble and as a commander i know and feel then i have to use my abilities on general to counter such moral/fleeing units, and this has huge impact on your skills as a commander in battle, and it can actual boost your own confident in how good you are to controll such skill and you can sometimes win with almost nothing,

and other master commander will agree with me on this, ( this effect gameplay way more then we think and how confident you will be then things goes bad in the battlemap )

Actually things are balanced out, because they go by percentages rather than men left. This is how it's always been. The only unbalanced aspects are things like cannons, where there'll always be 4 regardless of settings...but considering how badly implemented they are, it's irrelevant anyway.

Chances are the reason your men are routing is because you're not using them right. If they're ashigaru then you have to keep your general and other men around them or they'll run before anything even happens.

I have the battle size at large. I also started to hold my commander a little bit closer to the men in the first ranks and they flee much less now.

Yes keep ashigaru packed tight and with the pointy end always facing the enemy and they can hold out even against much more expensive melee units long enough for your flanking force of choice to smash the enemy from behind.
