How are hattori/tukugawa kisho ninjas better than regular?
I looked in the encyclopedia and according to it they are actually worse. Im guessing they just wrote it wrong, but how are they actually better?

if you are referring to vanilla S2, Ninjas are agents that provide bonuses to army(longer walk range), towns(wider sight), and can assasinate, and sabotage the enemy in the "campaign map". Agents are very useful because they do not cost upkeep in my opinion.

Kisho ninjas are the "in battle" units. They can walk and be completely invisible(unless you are very close to the enemy), throw hand grenades to send enemies flying, and have very high melee attack. They also have active abilities such as run-in-stealth and flash bombs(watch for friendly fire).
The kisho ninja are mid to late game unit and can pack a huge punch in enemy morale if used in flanking enemy armys that are too busy fighting your main one. There's one big drawback which is unit size. They should only be used as a secondary unit because of their cost/upkeep.

From what I read, tokugawa and hattori kisho ninjas are actually weaker than the other clans(only 2 ammunition, rest of stats the same) because CA forgot to buff them. I personally don't use kisho ninjas much, so I didn't know.

I would see Kisho Ninjas more as a flanking unit as they will not hold up long in a head-to-head fight due to inferior numbers regardless of their rank.
They'll be minced easily if overwhelmed by the enemy.

The idea is to strike weaker targets like the archers and avoid the heavy units like the samurais unless your ninjas wish to visit wonderland quickly.

Personally, i hardly field them because their cost is not worth the trouble of keeping unless i need a quick unit for besieging castles due to their efficient and quick climbing that has no one dying a ridiculous death due to falling.

In Siege battles they are useless, but land battles they could deal with infantry, even sword infantry, quite well. First there bombs (I always name them coconuts) make insane damage and with their ability (don't know the name in English, German it's "heimlichkeit") they have high Meele stats. You need to protect them of cav and every range unit. But it's a tricky unit and hard to play
