Battles I'm winning and suddenly I've lost

SO was fighting a 1700 vs my 465 force in my castle. I put everything on one side, routed 3 of his units and deployed to meet the other 2 forces storming the castle. Suddenly, and not the first time - i instantly lose and all my men are killed. What am I missing here other than perhaps once certain parts are controlled the battle ends? I had one tower still in my possession as well. Thanks

My guess is you're playing using the name templars and as we all know they suddenly disappeared in the middle ages, so your army did the same.

Or you know, as suggested above you didn't hold the castle central flag, that might be a thing too.

Okay thanks - I appreciate the non-snarky response some with low self esteem seem required to provide. Do you lose everyone without a fight as it apparently seems? Is that the way it normally goes? So counter capturing your central flag doesn't seem an option. Thank you

Why focus on the first part of the post and ignore the fact that your question was answered in the second part?

Regarding re-taking the centre tower, the enemy must take and hold it for a minute. There is a timer top right left of the screen that shows how long they have held it.

You can retake it and re-set the timer at any point during this period.

If/when the time runs out, the battle (and all units) is lost.

I don't think of myself as a fan of anyone or anything to be honest.

I just try to be accepting that not everyone is going to interact the same way as me on a forum - and that is a fact for which all should be grateful.
