First episode had both. Might actually prove worth a watch, but I've only watched first episode, we'll see.

I generally wait for the first season to end so I can watch an entire season. If I like that I 'try' to remember the show for some rainy day when I can watch the next season (and often forget about it so just watch a few Simpson episodes :D).
Keep me posted please :)

After watching the trailer, I have to wonder how much fake fantasy bushido BS is in it. Sengoku Jidai was not all about one-on-one duels.

Watch the first episode, this isn't focused on that.

Stop judging before you watched it based on a trailer. I've seen 5 episodes so far and there's not a single one-on-one duel. They show the cruelty of Nobunaga pretty well and I think it's a great docu series.

Will it all be 100% accurate? Probably not, but hey, no docu is. I think this docu actually is really good.

i watched it all, Dregora is right.
man o man, wish 2nd seaonon was here already.
I'd say that it's accurate enough, however I'm bugged that there are some important people missing. At least they did tell the story of Date Masamune, that dude is just big ♥♥♥♥ energy from his beginnings to the fateful meeting with Hideyoshi. :cozycrashfish:

Pff, I question it's accuracy. 6 episodes and I didn't see a decent yari wall once....

They did mention that Oda Nobunaga's reliance on ashigaru, so I guess that balances out the missing presence of a yari wall. :cozycrashfish:

Some times the timing of live action events can lead people to misleading conclusions based on what the narrator is saying... like the scene where they so the Hideyoshi character about to kill the Yoshimoto Imagawa character then a few minutes later while talking about Hideyoshi rising up the ranks due to his prowess in battle they show Hideyoshi walking up to Nobunaga with a head as if to say Hideyoshi took Yoshimoto Imagawa's head and that is why he got promoted.
They also skirted over a lot of the build up to Okehazama which made me sad, I like a narrator doing a good build up to that battle.

I'd say its good for a broad outline but overall not very detailed, it probably appeals to people who need action scenes in documentaries to hold their attention... even if the action scenes look like they were ripped from some Japanese Soap where the premise is that all the Daimyo are from different genres of music, Tokugawa was in a Boy Band, Nobunaga was clearly a grunge rocker and Hideyoshi... well Hideyoshi straight up should not be left alone near children, I think I will have nightmares that character was sus.

i just watched that too. i watched the show and was like that just didnt feel right. Felt like a very hyped up and weirdly romanticized version of it. Oda a mad lad? almost no use of yaris at all? And when they said the katana was the best sword ever made.
