Why the rant about piracy? He didn't ask how to play DLC clans without the DLC. It must be possible to unlock minor factions without touching the DLCs.

What does it matter if the minor factions don't have anything special for them, the main point IS just to try different challenge from starting positions. Upping the difficulty will only take you so far before it becomes more of the same

Don't see why CA would have anything against people unlocking the "minor" factions, look at Warhammer, they're surely aware of the unlockers there, and even what modders do to spice up those minor factions just so they aren't generic general and units (but even if they were). I'm sure if they really wanted to they'd just tell the authors there "Hey man, just don't do this", and there wouldn't be any. You can count in one hand the amount of unlockers in Warhammer

You're the only one talking about unlocking DLC clans by modding here, DLC clans aren't minor factions.

I'm gonna use base shogun 2 as example.
Why would CA care if I unlocked Honma for example. I don't care if they don't have any special bonuses, it's a different situation than doing a campaign as the major clans, and that's enough to be fun.

No, no it wasn't. You're adding words that aren't there. So yes, you are ranting about unlockers being illegit because of DLC clans that aren't the point. You can't pay for something that isn't for sale.
Unless you're saying you can't make an unlocker without unlocking the DLCs as well, that's not the problem.

with this game that shouldn´t be a problem since the units from the dlc aren´t in the game if you don´t have the dlc.So unlocking the factions will give you nothing except the basic units.

Is that actually the case? I don't see how adding the units the game would be that difficult.
