People have had the game refuse to run properly, or even get to the main menu, because their Flash wasn't installed or was installed bugged.
My best guess is that installer is creating a config file in the user/app data/roaming/macromedia folder to allow permission for shogun 2. The contents of this file is two lines, for me this is:
# Trust flash files in the following directory (TW install):
C:/Jungle/Steam/steamapps/common
On inspecting some forums, the install directory for a normal flash player is:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
or
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
I have another configuration file in SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash but no exe or dll.
Secondly, I think that the flash dll is included inside the base game exe and runs when the game is launched as part of the code.
The reason for flash is CA used it for the UI elements of the game, I have no idea why and I dislike it but there you are. They use this I believe to tween the UI elements like a simple animation.
I can't find any other trace of it on my system.
Then I got curious. The Flash installer added the "Adobe Flash" item to Control Panel, so it seems to be a system installation. I also saw .exe and .dll files in the Windows folders that you mentioned.
I ran the Flash uninstaller which removed the Control Panel item, but didn't remove the files in the Windows folders. So I manually removed all traces of Flash from Windows and User folders.
After all that, I was still able to launch the game. At this point, I'm confused since I have no traces of Flash but the game still launches and is playable (as you have experienced).
Strange...
ps.
what prevent you from edit the script, other steam users has done this. they had the 32bit/64bit issue and script keep naging about the 32bit then they have 64bit version of it. this is another problem with it.
well if you dont understand who made what in a browser we cant help you. there is many other 3party app runs in our browser that is needed. browser is actual total outdate in its native form and many homepage wont work without them.
Please be advised, Adobe Flash Player is nearing the end of its life; Adobe will pull Flash off this 2020. Downloading of Adobe Flash Player is no longer safe.
