Do you need to update your Adobe Flash Plugin to play?

When i downloaded the game it had also installed adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, it is not up to date and it won't update. When i launch the game, it just crashes. Is this related or is it something else?

Verify your game files and see if that helps. And as far as i know you do not need Adobe for the game to run. I deleted all the Adobe files and game still runs fine.

I did not install Flash when prompted (and do not already have Flash installed) and the game is running fine. So I think unrelated.

You do not need Flash for Shogun 2, nor anything else for that matter. It's a severe security risk and should be removed from your machine. Flash was included in Shogun 2 because it linked to YouTube videos, which by now have all converted to HTML5.

You can go to the redist folder in your installation directory and remove the three installers related to Flash.

...\steamapps\common\Total War SHOGUN 2\redist

When you start Shogun 2, you can then quickly skip past the Flash installer nonsense.

Adobe Flash has been discontinued so its not needed as you wont be able to update and its unwise to have it on your computer aswell.
