Compelling General & Son in Law to Commit Seppuku
Here's some interesting thing happening in FotS. After I won the game, I continued to play the campaign for a few rounds (doing some housekeeping in the provinces). I married the Daimyo's daughter to a loyal and experienced general, but since he didn't have any battles to fight anymore he gained a nasty trait (eyes for the ladies). That bastard.
So I was contemplating what to do with him. I could either send him to the far north of Hokkaido to spend the rest of his days or get rid of him. After some deliberation I decided to disband him, but I waited until he has produced a grandson. In the turn when the son was born, I disbanded that cheating dog, so he committed seppuku to regain his and his family's honor. And here's what happened: Immediately after he committed suicide, both the daughter and the grandson both disappeared from the Family & Council screen. So that lying and cheating dog of a General took away the Daimyo's family as well. Do you guys know if this an intended game mechanic or have I stumbled upon unintended consequences?

Unlike medieval 2 and rome 1, shogun 2 family tree isn't a family tree that have all of your family members, the grandsons is still there, but they're labelled as a cousin, which means when a daimyo dies without a heir, the cousins will step in.

And yea, if its your heir you have done something wrong, but if its just your son, the consequence isn't too big.
