How to play as Western Countries

Since I can't choose a Western Nation, which faction gets the best use of the American's units?

Just choose the Americans to trade with after you build the level 4 port. I don't think the clan matters all that much

Mostly Shogunate clans get the better end of the stick with Americans..never trade with France

best accuracy and best reload rate and best melee stats so how are the others better? ill agree that the ironclad isnt that good.

French Marines don't have best melee, those are the U.S Marines. Brits have the medium accuracy, reload, and melee stats of the two. It's better to use Brits or US Marines (only use US Marines if theyre upgraded good) incase of close quarters fighting or sieging walls. Brits also have the best ship while the US has the 2nd best ship and best arty accuracy.

Theres a mod that allows you to play as USA,France,Russia,UK in FOTS and another mod that allows you to play as Portugal in shogun 2 normal campaign.

Fun,but historically innacurate obviously as these nation traded and provided limited support in battles only.

I just use the unlimited Hero Unit mod pack. Basically allows you to import and train as much "Hero" units as you want with no cap. Really fun and surprisgly not OP.

in a co op campaign unlimited hero mods are un needed 1 person can make a hero and gift it to the other then make another one once you got 2 doom stacks of heros they can just gift them back to you. but this doesnt help in solo
