Oda is good but the starting place might be a trouble for new players
Chosokobe- smaller Island, but easy to defend, good resources, excellent archers (I'm guessing this was the Intended "new player" clan)
Mori- a slight difficulty getting revenge at the start, but usually pretty easy, and good training for a new player-- even though you're in the middle of other clans, you get sweet Lands, good ship abilities, and those tricky Mori-wako
Date- many overlook these guys- Like Shimazu, you're at an end-cap of the map, you do have to kill your relative at the start to assert clan authority, but like Mori, good training, you also get Date No-Dachi, and I recommend taking Sado Island for the Gold Mine -- mid-game can be slightly tough- Takeda and Hojo usually team-up- but ANY clan east of Kyoto has to deal with those Punks
Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Yellowman, a whole ton of others..........
oh wait that's Jamaica!! ^_^
Yes, that actually helps quite a bit, as that's my first campaign in that game
