How does inter clan marriage work?

I'm wondering about this. Whats the difference in game between me giving one of my daughters away as opposed to getting another clan to give me one of theirs? Is there a way to inherit territory?

No, there is no way to inhereit territory as in the original Shogun or Medieval.

Giving a daughter and taking another clan's into your family are functionally similar: they both give the same boost to diplomatic relations.

The son of your daimyo/general/son and the daugher of another clan will be a member of your clan the same as if he married someone from within the clan, and the same for the other clans that marry any of your daughters.
