Independent in FOTS?

Anyone go Independent instead of siding with Emperor or Shogunate and beat the timehack? I play as Shimazu/Satsuma in FOTS.

What do you mean by time hack? like actually win the game before the timer runs out?

Also is this just a question of has anyone else done this or is it a case you want advice.
Generally speaking as long as you play a game from the begining with the intention of going independent its not that difficult.
You will lose any shogunate or imperial specific units, if you upgrade past a certain tier your propoganda buildings will be spreading shogunate or imperial propoganda (so don't) you will lose your isshin isshi or shinsengumi agents will go bye bye and no alternative will be offered.
Both sides will declare on you.

Generally it is easier with clans that get some kind of unique infantry unit that fills a gap between line & republic infantry.
Alternatively if you want a super easy republic campaign then go low modernisation as you can expand quicker and will have naturally higher happiness which will help with the transition from shogunal / imperial to republic.

This is all of course assuming by independent you mean republic.

We been watching all of you especially me. Its a bunch of turd p*ssyass police officers downtown trying to act professional or some dumb sh*t and me and these other "ninja" types came in here and shut them down through internet like this. JUST LAUGH AT THEM. We caught one of them trying to hack my MSN account from Las Vegas through police deparment.

Im not a cop or law enforcement.

No dude... like... the Patriots were a terrorists group during the Revolution. 13 Colonies were part of the British Empire (England) under the British Monarchy. The Loyalists were the good guys the entire time. Patriots rebelled against the govt. (British Monarchy at the time) and started all of this "FREEDOM" and "INDEPENDENT" propaganda but then you turned around and contraDICKted yourself not letting people be independent within the laws of the Constitution later on after changing govt. types.
