What is cunning, why is it important ?
or just anything for that matter when it comes to agents in general.
(subterfuge, zeal, cunning, etc.)

i do understand the general jist of the subertfuge, the more you have the better the person is at killing others but i'm not sure about the others, especially Metsuke the skill tree confuses me.

If you mouse over any part of am agent's skill tree, it will explain exactly what it does.

I think you might be in the wrong forum anyway: Shogun 2 agents don't have "zeal" or "cunning"; they have specific skillets that enable them to better perform specific missions, like assassination or rooting out enemy agents in a town.

i don't have any other total war except medieval 2 ''cunning'' is on the metsuke tree
What I mean is that they don't have Zeal, Cunning, etc. ratings like in Rome 2 or Attila. That is what I thought you were referring to, ratings.

In Shogun 2 the ratings have to do with which specific tiles or cards you assign points to on the tree.

So just hover on the cards of the tree and it will tell you what it does.

Those skills generally let you discover and capture enemy agents more effectively.

Like I said, just mouse over any of the skills and it will specifically tell you.

You can also use the in game encyclopedia to look up any agent skill.

you are regurgitating the same thing which you have said twice now
i want to know how does cunning help in the success of your characters actions ¬_¬
Lol I told you: it helps you catch enemy agents easier, like discovering them when they are trying to do a mission.

I keep repeating myself because you don't seem to understand: there is no "cunning skill". There are specific skills classified as being under "cunning" in the tree.

The only way to see specifics is to identify which specific card or tile is in question, and then mouse over it or use the Encyclopedia.

The chance of success increses with each level or star of cunning, in the respective skill.

ie. cunning while occupying settlement, you'll discover/reveal enemy agents easier with each level of cunning increasing chance of discovering.

Thank you for all of your help, both of you, even after 250 hours i couldn't understand what these traits meant. example i put them in because it said +1 assassinate so that i could assasinate people easier but when i read the cunning skills on the metsuke i thought, what does this mean, and being the literall black and white thinker that i am i thought there was a more deeper meaning than this generalisation, because i literally thought that cunning meant something in this game, so i'd like to thank you for your patience in trying to help answer my question. :D

Yeah some things aren't really laid out so they're easy to grasp. No worries, and Mile is a good source of info :)

''if you mouse over any part of am agent's skill tree, it will explain exactly what it does.''
it may tell you exactly what it is but i thought it would give me a bit more of an explanation like they do with the other things...
example:
noodles:
your men will never go hungry
+10% to replenishment rate under this man's command

:D thanks for your response also
Lol you're welcome 😀

Another way to think of it is that "cunning" just means what it means in the dictionnary.

So if it says "+2 to cunning in apprehending agents," the "apprehending agents" is the actual skill being given +2...the "cunning" part just means the agent is now more adept/skillful/cunning in whatever skill follows.

I guess I should have just said that from the beginning lol.

I think we were both over thinking it too much.
