I'd suggest searching for the topic and reading through some of the deeper threads that have already cone and gone.

I'd normally conquer a clan and turn them into a vassal clan before causing a rebellion and recapturing the province for myself.
2. Gives a much stronger garrison than what you could maintain yourself
3. Honor gain (early game)
4. Lets you avoid taking weak provinces for yourself, increasing your income, reducing your expenses (no need to upgrade), and delaying realm divide
BTW. you can maintain vassals more or less indefinitely by giving them money gifts, even after realm divide.
The only real negative i've had with vassals is in FOTS when you make a vassal and then one of your allies, for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles i guess, decides to declare war on them and then you have to choose between allies. I've gotten burned by that a few times.
Not really worth 1 honor in my opinion. The tribute they send you is also non existant. It's better to have direct control.
I can understand though how that might happen, I'd lose my ability to read and even think straight if I spent 5,000 hours playing DOTA2. I mean dear god...
