Project: Gorgon

Demo won't connect?
No firewall or other blocking issues that I can find. No problems with any other game - internet is working flawlessly.
Tried restarting.

It will either not connect at all or connect for about 1 second before disconnecting...

It just says: "-Last Error: Connection Lost"

If you're on Windows, you can check the file:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Elder Game\Project Gorgon\output_log.txt

Maybe that can provide a clue. Note that this file wipes and resets every time the game is started.

You can also check to confirm that port TCP 9002 is open. This is the port required to connect to the server.

Hmm: The plot thickens, @mrwarp : thank you.

Tried updating GFX drivers and portforwarding 9002 but still doing the same thing.

Not sure where to look in output_log.txt - it looks like it connects fine but then something gets out of sync and it shuts everything down.

Man, this is really old info, but there was a guy that claimed his overactive ad-blocker was interfering with his Gorgon launch. Are you sure there's not a process running that might be naughty? Like a stealthy anti-virus ware that overreaches. Maybe? Also, in the past, some locations had trouble launching because they were using VPNS. Protocols changes so much, it could even depend on your ISP. MAYBE. No expert here.

Welp,
I've checked every possible program I'm aware could be blocking anything on my PC.

This hasn't happened on this PC with any other game/program.

Every one of my blocking programs alerts me every time it blocks something - but I still tried with everything off and/or with a rule for P.G. - still not working...

I tried disabling some of my Graphics Driver settings, thinking (from clues in the log), that it may be something like my refresh rate being too high (I'm at 144 hz). No go.

Surely there could be something I've missed but I've hit the end of my troubleshooting knowledge.

There have been very rare cases of the problem being with the ISP blocking ports. The only successful workaround for all of those cases was to use a VPN. If all else fails, go grab a free trial of one of them and give it a spin.

You dont open a port to connect to a game server...
