I am not sure about the other maps, as I've not tried them all, but I spawned on the Tropical terrain map. Where I've moved too, I'm near fields of tomatoes and corn, and obviously next to water for fish, and lots of rats, rabbits (or squirrels...didn't get close enough to know), wolves and tigers, not to mention the endless supply of coconuts and bananas. From the tutorial, farming seems pretty complicated (at least for now since I don't quite know what I'm doing yet), but with the vast amounts of food...
