📢 Build 0.2.7 Update – Smaller Maps & Better Agawan Base Rules!

Hey everyone! Kendrick here, Game Designer of Langit Lupa.

I’m super excited to share that Langit Lupa Build 0.2.7 is now live!

I’ve made the maps smaller this time because I noticed during streams and playtests that there was a lot more hiding than chasing. I want every match to feel fast, exciting, and full of action—so now, there’s less running away and more fun catching each other. And just imagine how wild it gets with 8 players!

I’ve also tweaked the Agawan Base rules to make the game easier to understand and more fun to play. Now it works like this:

You get +1 point for capturing an enemy.
+5 points for capturing all enemies.
+5 points when you rescue a teammate.
And of course, you can still touch your base to power up or become the tagger.

With these changes, the game feels a lot more like the classic chase I loved growing up—where you get to turn the tables and catch the person who was chasing you just a moment ago.

Here are the major updates for Langit Lupa! We’ve been hard at work fixing lots of bugs—both major glitches and minor issues—to make your gameplay smoother and more enjoyable. Plus, we’ve added some cool new features, including fresh sound effects (SFX), eye-catching visual effects (VFX), and quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback. Dive in and experience the upgrades firsthand.

9 Available Game Modes

Langit Lupa, Twenty Juan, Labo Labo, Ice Ice Tubig, Agawan Base, Pasabog, Capture the Flag, Balik Bayan, and CLAYGO

Added functionality to hide the mouse cursor during gameplay.
Added grey smoke VFX when picking up items.
Added a search bar to the lobby list.
When items are thrown and hit the walls or floor, they will crack, and there’s a chance they might also be destroyed.
Thrown items will crack upon impact with walls or the floor, and there is a probability that they may be destroyed.
Added small dust VFX when players run on the floor. No dust trail while jumping.
The arcade machine shakes whenever a player joins the game.
Added small help text and a crying face emoji above prisoners.
Added crack effects when passing the bomb.
Added player sound effects using developer voices.

Question… Have you every played this type of game during your childhood? Here we called it TwentyOne, you usually count before the game starters and kung sino yung ika-21, siya yung taya. I heard it’s also called “Veintiuno” in other places in the PH.

Credits to Albert (our QA guy for suggesting this), also to Retarded Gamer who I got the chance to vent on and solidified my ideas.

Oh.. And ability to still join the game when they’re still playing.
This may be buggy, let me know if it is!

Don’t have to read this part. But I’ll write anyway so I won’t forget.

Changed server to Relay. This means, it’s not a dedicated server anymore, but peer to peer.
Maintaining dedicated game servers are pretty intense and time-consuming, and I thought it’s an overkill for this type of game. Maybe we’ll get back to it in the future, for now, we’re going peer-to-peer for faster iteration.
Added fail safes when users get stuff at loading or countdown
Host can change the game time
