How come Golden Axe 3 does not have local co-op 2 player mode?

This is the greatest mystery of our generation. Was it budget constraints? Was it sheer incompotence? Was it just forgotten? Were we relegated to the status of solitary PC gamers and thus no Co-Op?

I ask ye of the forum, why does this injustice plauge us so?

i'm no expert but i'd say it's because of software limitations and such, they should definately find a way to inpliment it though.

That could be true, but at the same time the first two golden axe games have 2 player co-op. Why not the 3rd?

around this time, sega was desperate for money
this game came out just before the sega Saturns release
also, JP players like their RPGs more 'technical' as in difficult
this game most likely was not made for casuals but for veteran diehard sega genesis gamers

Golden Axe three was only released digitally back in the day for a extremely short period of time. Online offers for console were beyond new at the time. I assume they decided no effort should be put into it since it was an online only release very few people were going to play.

Basically Laziness on Sega's part for the PC version because whoever did the conversion of the game assumed all PC gamers are staunch loners.

It's a problem with the emulator's configuration. The ROM itself supports two-player if you load it in another emulator or on a real Genesis; the game was released in Japan on a cart and it has always been a two-player game.
