How long will they allow us to keep the games?
I feel like the clock is ticking even for us that own all the games. They have rights to do that. So the question is how much time left till the bomb explodes?

They cannot delete the games you payed for, that's the same for all games on Steam with the exception of online exclusive games.

If you buy something on steam they can't remove it from your account, that's a steam policy.

Ok but how? Steam eula says "You don't own any of these games. You can just play them." Doesn't that mean they can just remove whatever they want from your inventory since you don't "own" anything?

It basically just means that you can't resell your account. The game licenses are assigned to your account can't be resold just as your account itself can't be resold.

Oh please with this doomer FUD nonsense. Even if game publishers thought they could get away with this the courts wouldn't.

I had only one case of a game disappearing from my library and that was a beta client for a f2p game that never made it to relase.
In most cases, delisting a product is enough for most companies to solve licensing issues. However, it doesn't hurt to make a copy of your roms just in case, since Steam is not required to use them anyway.

Oh yeah that is not how it works. I own the 1999 game asheron's call I am talking physical cd. In fact I had bought a digital version too. I can't play the game. So why can't I play the game? It is a online game, even in 1999 you couldn't play the game unless you paid a monthly fee. That was just the way the license was set up. That is how the crew worked except instead of paying a fee they let you access it for free. Many free online games and mobile game work like that too.

But this game is different once you get it from steam you don't connect to a sega server. It is no different than those sega genesis games sitting in my closet. They are only allowed to tell the store not to sell the game. Delisted is like out of print.

So basically both Sonic 3 and asheron's call you can't go to a store a buy it. However with Sonic 3 both copies, I can still play because it doesn't require a online service like asheron's call needed. The crew falls into the same category as asheron's call. people were mad about the crew because it felt like it could have been easily converted, there were also people who played asheron's call who thought they could have released the game in a way that the user could provide their own servers. The line is becoming more and more blurred since so many games have online now.

The sonic 3 I own on steam and the one in my closet are basically the same. They can't be bought new again but I can still play them. Think of steam as the closet I just take the game out of the closet and play it. However even though asheron's call is also in my closet it can't be played.

Thing is, this game is playable but different from The Crew it still playablle, The Crew has stuff for offline play (I myself NEVER played online aside from 1 or 2 events I decided to participate for whatecver the reason) and there is literally zero reason to make The Crew as online only other than forcing ... and this game never asked for subscription never was advertised as such "and no, dubious multiple understanding possibilities words threw in the middle of a contract" does not count as advertisement, something to be advertised and sold as subscription model IS TO BE ADVERTISED AS SUCH on the store page, not just "online required" when the game itself have most of its features for singlle player and multiplayer being a clear afterthought that also uses the single player content in a multiplayer environment.

What Ubisoft made is sell a game as "a game not a subscription" and treat it as a subscription with no expiration date set and for that reason a scam.
If "YOU" are upt o acce3pt being scammed and robed it is up to you, I am not and all the games I already owned by Ubisoft I do own but I dont even care anymore for them and dont care about whatever else tagged with Ubisoft that is made in the future either because I wont purchase anything else with Ubisoft name in it because I will not support scammers and thieves.

SEGA did not pull an Ubisoft move so I will continue to purchase SEGA games.

I agree the crew was a grey zone which is why so many got mad. But these sega games are not that way at all they simply just pulled the selling them. Besides a lot of people are mad at ubisoft for a lot of reasons and if AC shadows does really bad they could be in real trouble.

Basically what I am trying to say is no steam won't take your games away, it's greedy people like ubisoft that are trying to take your games. and ubisoft is hurting bad right now. Also like you said, I also feel sega is fine, so i think your worry of steam or sega complexity pulling this is unwarranted.

If sega does launch a service judge it when it comes by price and which games you get. I've always seen things like Xbox game pass similar to the old days of going to the video tape rental store and renting a game.

You are on the right track of being cautious there are a lot of people who fall for tricks and end up with poor value. I won't buy any crew games why would I when there is forza horizon their games are better and they shut down online very slowly and still let you play offline so it hurts ubisoft in the end if you weigh your options well.
