Thanks, but stupid people like me just pay $2.99 since I can't figure that out. LOL
They definitely put way more effort into this than all the hacks that just package old PC games with Dosbox and call it a day.
Well I don't know about hacks but you can extract roms and repack them. You can also pack other roms that are in .bin format into .pak format to work with the emulator.
Section 3 of this guide has the software needed: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=398334923
They are selling you the LEGAL OWNERSHIP of said roms
Except that the emulator is far from working fine. Maybe it's just a special issue with Shining Force 1, but it does freeze, crash, mess around with the in-game save and now finally managed to corrupt the emulator-side save, leaving me with at least 7h gameplay lost. But I guess I won't bother and just play it again on a different emulator, where it works just fine without any of the aforementioned issues. All in all this emulator is about as reliable as playing lottery to provide yourself with a regular income.
That being said, if they would actually provide working roms on a working emulator there would be nothing wrong with it indeed.
It's not user friendly it's bad design dressed up.
They should have provided the roms directly and offered the option to launch them directly and not be forced to use the terrible launcher.
