Does this version of Sonic 3 have the micheal jackson music?

I remember they had to alter it after the child abuse scandal in '93. I know MJ & Brad Buxer composed some tracks for the game before Sega decided to not include them,

If I recall correctly, the tracks were left in the Mega Drive version but without any credit. There is a video out there on youtube which proves this (the credits song for Sonic 3 bears an unbelieveable resemblance to Stranger in Moscow). I've heard rumors that Sega only removed the MJ tracks from some of the later versions to avoid potential legal issues.

This version has the exact same soundtrack as the Genesis/Mega Drive version. As far as I know, the only version to have changes to the soundtrack was the 90's PC release of Sonic 3/Knuckles.

There's been a lot written about this, but since neither Sega nor Michael Jackson have ever really commented on it in any official way we don't know for sure. There have been rumors, leaks, interviews and other things that are very contradictory, but there is no actual proof for either side of the story.

And no, song similarities are really not proof of anything. There's tons of those in video game music history.

I doubt we'll ever hear Michael Jackson's contributions, it's very unlikely that SEGA retained any of his score.

Yes, in my research, yes. The Steam version of Sonic 3 was released in 2011, which is a year before any news of a lawsuit to sega. I know I'm like 5 years late, just thought I'd let you know :)
