Personally, I stopped using that room ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and just used the original (better) menu for selecting the roms.

Not sure if you can access the mods if you are using the simple launcher. Although in the absence of the mods you are also unlikely to get the black screen on launch. :)

try uninstall some mods and launch the game, I saw some people with the same problem and it solved.

I did and it did work once. Then when i launch it again it forcefully shuts down on me many times and sometimes with an error. I also do not have citrix mods either since i never download them.
