I just started this game again. I couldn't find the glitched spell for main character with the sandles but oh well. I think I will 40 everyone and then promote. grind every battle till i only get 1 xp from monsters there then move on. anyone have a suggested team? I like using the turtle and Peter.

Best Game Ever! I like making it more difficult; i.e. using Luke instead of Peter. I always felt the mages were way overpowered towards the end. Other than that, monks are fantastic because they can use Boost which is not only easy xp, but makes your party nearly unbeatable.

I LOVE Shining Force 1 & 2. I picked up the pair of them here on Steam, and I am attempting to beat Shining Force 2 on the hardest Difficulty, Super.
What's that about a glitched spell? I found the Chirrup Sandals, your saying there is a spell I can use with them equipped?

If equiped by hero or slade they can randomly learn a spell called higins that acts like a heal spell but does nothing. Not sure if it gives xp of healing though.

Oh really? Well, I might try that out then. I guess I need to have them equipped when I level up or something? Does this spell take up a slot for Slades spells that he learns when he promotes?

You don't need them equiped after you learn the spell. It will take one of his spell slots but his new spells will save over it.

There is a Debug code in Shining Force 2 that lets you cheat a lot to a certain extent but it's very hard to pull off in this version of the game. It's achieveable to a higher extent on the original Sega Genesis console.

Yea I am aware of that code. I used to enter the code and my friend would take control of the enemies and try to kill me. :)

you can not do the hidden town special battle with control enemys on

there is no real reason lvl up characters to lvl 40 before promote (its nearly imposible on with some characters)25-30 is ok still after that game gets realy trivial at some point because of your overpowered team at some point near the end

What are you talking about? Your saying you skip out on 20 more stat boosts before promotion? What difficulty are you playing, easy?
Always wait until level 40 to promote. Don't say NO to 20 more stat boosts.
