An amateur group has been working for SEVEN years on this project. A big remake of the Streets of Rage series, complete with all enemies and playable characters, even the secret ones like Ash, Roo, Shiva... Even Electra and Mr.X are playable in this VERY POLISHED, refined and wonderfully made, game, which albeit amateur, feels and plays like a PROFESSIONAL work!

They even released the maker, so you can either make from scratch, or edit an already existing, mod... The community is very live and a plethora of mods are already around, most of them EXCEPTIONALLY WELL made, too, like the SOR 1, 2, 3 faithful remakes, the V4 remake, way of the warrior, rage in time and the Knights of the Round, Warriors of Fate and King of Dragons! Hell, they even made a golden axe trilogy mod, crossover with Streets of Rage!

Please don't drop any hammers, this game has been FREE, no one charges anything for it. They didn't steal any code or material from Sega, they created everything from scratch. This is an EXAMPLE to everyone, how well in modern times an old game's remake can trully be. It is entertaining even for the new generation kiddies! They even added different stage routes and plot twists, some to match new characters like Rudra (a kunoichi), a loot system and a shop to unlock the players/cheats/game artwork, plus a great soundtrack mixed and face lifted. It is worth to note that you can have 3 different versions of Axel, Blaze, and more than one version of a character appearing in more than one game, with differences in both stats and moveset, depending on game of origin. Also you can have both the 3's gauge and 1's police call. This is a real gem, a banned masterpiece, which trully and honestly offends NO ONE and is a genuine and great piece of work. If only they made them like they used to, with talent and passion...

Also, don't forget those beauties. Even though they are mods, they are the Faithful remakes of the original games, but with the 5.1 remake's innovations, like ability to use ANY player you want, have both police call and special move, etc. You need to have unlocked the Sor-maker first.

It's too bad the project had to come to a forced halt. I would've hoped to see more out of this years later down that line. Thankfully, there's still a community to do what they can with it.

Yes, the community is awesome, they have made mods out of most well known games and arcades of the past! King of Dragons, warriors of Fate, Knights of the round, turtles in time, final fight, double dragon, even cadillacs and dinosaurs! And the game itself (remake V5) is great!

Something is at works here. Probably another blackmail to the distributors or developers, even if the game is FREE and not sold or intended for profit. Try downloading from the "Completed Mods", from the official forums of game, from the Sor Community. Also, sorronline's mods are outdated. In the community place they reworked on them, updated most of them and even did the Streets of Rage Collection mods, which is in ONE mod, ALL THREE versions of Streets of Rage 1 (Game Gear, Master System and Mega Drive version) and ALL THREE versions of 2 (again for those 3 consoles). They are faithful remakes, too. And in 5.1 's environment, too.

they should work together like did with taxman and create a streets of rage mania and a great port from original games on HD, 60fps, improved graphics....

i know sega was against in the past because they release at the same time his game emulated on android.

And this remake is a brilliant example of an amateur doing a better job for free, than the professional for money. Originals are good, but this is even better. Combines all gameplay elements from all games and even has the secret players thrown in! Even if it wasn't a great game (which is almost unanimously, plus widely praised...), even out of respect for team of people sitting down and working off their ashes for 7 years straight to pay their own tribute and homage to a great classic series, while the owners let it die and buried it and sell the ancient relics for a hefty sum, you shouldn't talk negatively about such a project. Just saying...

This isnt better, it's destroying the originals with ♥♥♥♥ system and outragous fan service.

Secondo they didnt respected any of the game aspect by changing the AI intentionnally making it a wreck train. Why not keep the original aspect of the gameplay, why this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ final fight ?

The options are like all those next gen games wanting to show "lenghts" over quality proposing cute things but not working together but they dont care it's legit content for fanboys who doesnt even finish the originals in hard difficulties. If you go serious on SORR the game become "Shiva" SORRv5 The Mania only mode game Kappa lol #unbalanced ♥♥♥♥.

They added a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, useless things through the overly long ass story route +1h making this unplayable more than once by month, i finish all 3 BKs games in less time than someone doing remake, wtf ? replayability 0. (who's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who put the sniper ♥♥♥♥ in sor2r path for exemple?)

SORR is like a beautiful cake its undeniable but it taste like shi†.

The only good thing about it is => it has SOR maker. (putting hard gay theme song with Ash entry on dance pole raise the note of the fangame from 1/20 to 5/20.) it has exellent and even better custom fangames on internet than remake itself (only sad that the AI is still ♥♥♥♥ and nobody cant change those code lines)

The only thing that would make this game more play and fun => Online. (the only real thing asked by people)

To finish lots of projects take time, it's a choice, they didnt make any amazing thing of if they even tossed this aside for years, if it work like a charm for newbies players it's fine, i like this only for his actual casual side but if it's the kind of game you want SEGA to make as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 4th episode, you are all bruying the originals undergroud yourself.
