Title says it all and iam sorry if its been asked before. Just wonder if there's any games remotely like SF 1 &2, I grew up playing them as a kid and still love them to this day. Just wanting to find something new thats like them.

The Shining Force games were a bit unique. There were more of them but some of them were never released outside Japan and the rest weren't ported over from their original systems (Saturn and others). Not sure why since many of them did well.

If you played a lot of Genesis games, you may better recognize Langrisser 1 as Warsong.

As for Steam, the best I can think of that isn't already listed are the Xcom titles, but those probably aren't what you're looking for. But if you're curious, the best Xcom game is XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

They are grid-based tactical RPGs with individual character growth, but have a sci-fi theme.
