Sega will never use good emulators
I can make one if need be, it's pretty bad lol
One of the pixels in the center of the screen is half the size it should be, causing a skewed ratio.
Indeed though, the sound is utterly crap.
(No, i am not moving from the SEGA emulator- But yes, i think that SEGA messed up when they based this off of Jenesis DS)
Considering that some of the titles on the Mega Drive library are legendary (Sonic 1-3K, Puyo Puyo, Dynamite Headdy, etc.) I think they did botch up some rather good stuff thanks to their crap emulator.
Unless it is just a subsidiary of SEGA, i think the guys to contact would be D3t, who appear to have worked on the re-done Jenesis DS emulator.
Personal opinion: I would rather have them re-do the hub based on Kega Fusion or another emulator that a fan would be happy to license to SEGA.
Specifically, i'd have them only alter the needed code to make the emulator work in the hub, without touching any of the actual code that makes the emulator work properly (and miles ahead of Jenesis DS).
But since when was SEGA a competent developer?

Anyway, I'd call the sound quality of this progam "adequate." I know it's not quite right, but at least it's on key. Imagine if it were comparable to those AtGames abominations. Ugh...
Oh, I agree. Heck, I still remember the days of Genecyst. My use of the word "adequate" is basically me calling the sound here "functional." It's not high praise. It could definitely use work.
Growing up with (and still having) a real Genesis, I definitely notice the sound differences from any emulated source.
One example that baffles me is the music in Phantasy Star II. Excluding the best unofficial emulators, I've only ever heard it sound close to correct on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (decent sound in this collection, but a little off at times). I swear all the music rips on YouTube that I have found are wrong. It seems none of them are recorded from a real Genesis/Mega Drive.
It's not right in this program, either. The easiest example I can think of is the battle music. After what I would call the trumpet intro, the main melody SHOULD switch to something more of a wind instrument. It doesn't. And it doesn't on every recording I can find. Though, I admit, it's not something I noticed until I played Phantasy Star II on a real Genesis. It's not a huge problem; I can deal with it, but I also can't unhear it.
Yo, Sega! Fix yo... You know, I don't think 'fix' is the right word. Sega, IMPROVE your sound. It merely being functional isn't good enough and work should be put forth to make it as accurate to the genuine Mega Drive/Genesis as possible. Inaccurate or poor sound misrepresents the original hardware and games, tarnishing their legacy (and your company's) as a result.

The Mota town music (Pleasure) does not sound like it did on my genesis. On ANY EMULATOR i've tried so far. even genesis plux gx, which is supposed to have PERFECT fm sound.
the bit after the loud drum break sounds off to me. The instrument seems totally different.
I may have had a VA7. the ring sound effect totally distorted and scratched every time through headphone jack. This may be why it sounded different to me. can anyone with a va7 record phantasy star 2 town music from it? from the headphone jack?
