Nintendo's Sega Mega Drive 6B Control Pad Not Working Like It (Probably) Should Be
Okay, so part of the reason why I bought the Japanese exported version of the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) 6B Control Pad that Nintendo was selling to their online users was because I wanted to experience some of the Genesis games that work best with 6 buttons involved (such as Comix Zone) instead of the more typical 3 buttons like most Sega Genesis games have. However, I've tried utilizing the control pad on more than one occasion, yet the game doesn't want to play nice with it. Similar issue also occurs with the Nintendo 64 controller that was bought through the Nintendo Switch Online membership perk as well. Currently, I'm not sure if this is a quirky problem that only the PC version of the Sega Mega Drive & Genesis Classics has or if it's something else on my end due to the fact that the game randomly assigns random buttons to the D-pad and control stick for both controllers at hand. Either way, I'm creating this thread to see if anyone else is having similar problems with Nintendo's version of the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive control pads or if it's just me that's having this problem. And if it is just a me issue, what do you think I should do to fix that problem myself?

P.S., This is my first time posting in Steam's forum discussions, so please don't go too harshly on me.

The game clearly doesn't have any idea what the gamepad actually is. Have you tried configuring it in the games option menu? I just fired up the game and it looks like you should be able to remap everything to your liking as long as the game recognizes all the buttons.
HTH.

I have tried doing that inside of the actual options menu for this collection, but whenever I do so, the game goes all over the place with certain buttons that I have no clue of like "Button 3", "Button 4", "Button 5", "Button 6", and "Button 7" jumping in and out over and over and over again like it's not it's business doing anything with it instead of the proper button commands in question. And if that's the case, it probably does relate to me fixing up or removing something so that way it can work properly. In that sense, I'll see what I can do from there...
It may be possible to create a custom controller config with Steam itself. I've never messed with that stuff but it supposedly helps when older games don't recognize certain gamepads and other things like joysticks.
