Controller Detected, Wont navigate the game room
The controller buttons pop up correctly when i press a button. But nothing happens. When I boot a game, it works completely fine. Why?

Same here.

I also have this issue. Plus when I select a game to play, the cartridge goes in but the TV screen just show black and grey bars. I can't play anything!

Update: Downloading the free 'Ds4 Tools' software (just Google 'Ds4 Tools') and then launching the game was the solution that worked for me.

Can we get the devs in here to fix this for us?

Honestly I'm beginning to hate that room thing and hope Sega will give us normal menus in a future compilation.

Game is 11 years old. Will they really address it now? (Genuine question, not being sarcastic).

I didnt realize it was 11 years old. I mean Controllers should work.

It also doesn't work for me

Yeah I too get weird controller detection problems with the VR room emulator - my controller shows up in the controller options menu but it simply doesn't function at all, even when in a game.
I also can't make the VR room emulator go full screen even when I select that option - it just doesn't happen.

So far I've just stuck to using the simple emulator - had no major problems with it fortunately (for example, my controller functions fine), and it does everything I need it to do, so I am mostly content luckily enough.

use the simple launcher instead, then your controller will work most likely.

I got my controller working on the VR room emulator (in game only) by testing all the axis settings (re-calibration) and re-assigning every button, but I still have to navigate the room with a mouse.
That's fine, it's not a big deal. Just glad I can use a controller in game with the main launcher now. Already grabbed some Achievements and Challenges :)

You need to go to your control settings to set it up. It's not usable by default, which even I admit is stupid. Below the TV is Console Setting, and below that is Input Options, that's what you want. If the game detects your controller, select it, then set your keybinds. If it doesn't detect it, then open your controller settings by clicking Steam in the top right corner, then Settings, then General Controller Settings in the Controller tab. Keymap your controller there, save it, then relaunch the game and try again. If it asks to assign a controller, just press any button to add it. It's not perfect, but that's what worked for me

Right click your game.
Go to properties.
Click controller.
Change default to to "Enable Steam Input".
Should fix it.
