OK... Can we now get Saturn games on Steam?
I am not really sure the point of these Genesis games, unless they are some how modded by the community to give even more back to the players. It feels like the same rehash of games on every system that Atari or Namco keeps spitting out. We had it on the NES, we had it on the SNES, we had it on the Gameboy, the GBColor, the Advance, the PS1, the N64, the TV plug ins, the PC, the XBOX, etc.

Now we have all these Genesis games everywhere from home consoles as downloads or disks, to TV plug ins, there is or was an actual SEGA game website and now Steam. Can we get something new and not so easily available like Saturn games now? I am willing to pay for that. I am not willing to buy SEGA Genesis games on every single console, PC and TV I own. O_o Thank you.

NID would be really the only thing I'd be interested in and it is a far cry from having an actual collection of Saturn games to choose from. Also these other games you mentioned, most if not all, are already on other consoles and or versions similar enough through physical copies and or digital downloads.

This is what I am talking about! I want these types of games to be able to be downloaded and played. Buying a used copy of PDS is like $1,000!!! That is insane, plus buying it used no matter how cheap does no good for Sega anyway. There are a lot of good Saturn games, although they may mostly be the Japanese versions since Sega of America was pretty stupid around that time.

Give us more "good" Saturn games and I and others will buy more Sega products. Keep giving us rehashes of the same Streets of Rage and Golden Axe we have had since we were children and also able to get from any other source imaginable and have been as previously mentioned, and the need to buy these become less and less. Also obviously we will need the Japanese games to be with English subtitles at least, as these are no mere button mashers for the most part any more in the Saturn/PS1 era.
I'd be willing to invest in Saturn games on Steam.
Unfortunately Saturn is notorious to emulate, hence why most people still play Saturn games... on a Saturn. Not everyone was lucky enough like me to have copies of games like SF3 and PDS when they came out - and still play to this day 20 years on. PDS data has been lost by Sega and they even admitted they don't KNOW who owns individual parts of the content and how and who they'd ask permission.

The other difficulty is simply what games would be included? There is no Sonic Saturn games to fit the brand, exclusives include heavy titles like Burning Rangers, Dragon Force, Dark Saviour, SF3 and PDS - a couple of other titles like Guardian Heroes and Daytona USA actually jumped to 360 download shop, Sega Rally, Sonic R and PD1 got original PC ports. Other games like Riglord saga/Mystaria is simply NOT worth re-releasing. That covers most of Saturn's noteworthy console exclusives - the rest were on competetor consoles like 3DO and PS1.

Nostalgic for us Saturn users (most of whom still own them on disk) but not a lot of revenue to be made, unfortunately.
Some Saturn games would have less slowdown on emulators, and thus the slowdown isn't emulated properly, giving Saturn emulator users an unfair advantage over console.

Surely there are more note worthy games than that on the Saturn, even if only on the Japanese side. And what you described is the same exact thing with the Genesis games as I already explained, everyone and their grandmother already has them. Most people do not have Saturn games.
Im not even sure if sega still has them at this point. If not. They could recreate them using current day editors. Im sure some people would love to work on that.

What do you mean still have them?

Some companies out there dont value their older work and dont have that big of a libary from that era to begin with. That is what I meant. Sega being a exception cause they do have 50+ the ones they did rerelease. Some of it liscenes issues some isnt. Im talking about the ones that isnt. They might not have a real data base for those and even if they did. The systems I mention arent the same as the saturn system. You would have basically rebuild each game they had for saturn systems for the pc cause of how the saturn was design. Its doable but it isnt easy if you dont have the source code for said games or even the slightest idea of how to do it. They got lucky when it came to nights. Panzer dragoon however would have to be rebuilt from the ground up I believe.
I see that I didnt mention the ones I meant. Well gamegear,x32 and some other ones. Those could be rebuilt easily with updated graphics and sound on the genesis emulator. I think sega would benefit actually from updating them to the genesis emulator software.

Kinda of a updated remaster for those games if you get what Im trying to say.

Why would we mention him for? What does he have to do with the subject?
