Sonic The Hedgehog Doesn't allow me to play.

I just bought this game, at the discounted price for the summer sale. The original STH game, and it shows up as DLC for the Sega Mega Drive. etc etc. When I open the 'game' and try to play Sonic the hedgehog, in both the simple launcher and the beefy 3D launcher the game doesn't allow me to play. It just starts up, shows sonic shaking his finger and then runs what is like some sort of Demo Reel of the game. Can anyone help?! I have no idea what to do. I tested my input setting and they're mapped to the arrow keyss, when I press absolutely anything NOTHING happens / changes, HELP!

The last guy I told that just immediatly refunded the game after claiming it was a game he played a lot before.

try restarting steam, launch the app through steam, try a controller to see if the imput is going through there, or restart your pc and try it again

also i cant run my usb sega genesis controller on the game without it thinking the a butten is the excape key unless i put it through joytokey

Tried that when I first opened the game and it wouldn't start, I'll try remapping the key, thanks in advance.

Turns out it was mapped to the windows start button, not very useful when that would cause me to tab out of the game before it would register as it starting to play. Thank you guys!
