Here is the seller I bought mine from (it works perfectly for the Mega Drive 2):

Also you can then hook up this scart cable into a Scart to HDMI converter to increase the image even more! You will need to buy an HDMI to HDMI cable as well:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00W9DJMNC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These links are from the UK site. If you are from a different country then it would be cheaper to use your country's Amazon site!
Thanks!
BTW Here is an example of the converter in action:

Pit-Fighter is still as bad as I remember haha! About CRT's I would advice to take a look about the colours of the shell. If it's black there are higher chances of being from the 80's and grey from the 90's. You can be interested in this to get a 50/60hz tv instead of the 80's one, which in UK could be restricted only with 50hz.
In my case (living in Europe too) I have a Panasonic Quintrix and works wonderful with my Sega Mega Drive model 1 and with RGB SCART, but the screen is maybe too big for my taste, consider to not get the biggest one you can find, sometimes more condensed pixels are better than just huge but clean pixels. (looks amazing with later consoles tho). If you need more information about cables and your genesis, I highly recommend you this video:

This website will help you too:
Covers everything about the Megadrive. [retrorgb.com]
The last thing I could mention and it's the most important thing for me, about how european Megadrives are restricted in PAL 50hz. This is unplayable and even insulting once you have seen how it works in other regions with 60hz NTSC/JP. If you live in UK you probably have a 50hz Megadrive and works slower with a smaller resolution; there is a mod to be able to switch to NTSC 60hz, but requires a bit of soldering if you have the model 2, the results are worth it (model 1 only needs to cut something in 5 seconds and that's it). I don't know too much about this, only that if you do this mod you will not be able to use the AV cable and will only show in black and white if you don't use a RGB SCART cable. The good side tho, is that you can put your PAL cartridges and run at 60hz!
If you are looking to get more Megadrive games, keep in mind that cheap games for the system are usualy because they are really that bad (not always, like sonic 1 for only 5-10 euros), so a trick is to just use emulators or watch videos before buying; I use the wii homebrew channel to emulate in my crt. Consider to get a Mega Everdrive x3 [krikzz.com] if you are going to buy more games in the next years, 100% worth it.
PS: As someone already said, be careful about what cables do you buy, always look for the model 2.
Good luck!
I just think its just cool to have them all on display.
Sorry for the late reply! Steam sometimes doesn't tell me about replies!
No, for me at least, I have not noticed imput lag at all! Although a small minorty of people state overwise! I guess there is a bit of a risk when buying this converter.
Well, good luck and prepare to work over time to afford these old consoles and games! The games for old consoles are getting expensive! They will probably get dearer if ever games console generations end!
You telling me, I found megadrive games selling well over £100, games people were selling for peanuts not 10 years ago. So far in megadrive games I own outrun, pitfighter, ghouls'n ghosts, sonic and golden axe II (all boxed). I aiming to buy one game per week.
Still I have Micro Machines and bomberman, there is no way I'm giving them up.
