Are there any bonuses for having save data from a different video game?

What happened to playing online? Now I can't play with my friends :/

It would be much easier and more convenient to be able to play the latest version and the classic with multiplayer if they were put in the library separately (like how Call of Duty games have the base game/campaign and then Zombies and Multiplayer as separate listed games in the library). I mean I think it would be better just to include Multiplayer on newer versions because most people aren't gonna bother checking how to go to properties and constantly changing back and forth having to re download the gam...
