Point invalid. Spend what you like, if you would like to. Don't want to spend money? Guess what. Your Cbill only mechs can whip a band of MC players with fancy clan packs and skins if you have the skill. Nice part? The skill isn't a matter of overcoming OP items.

OP keeps talking about goldskin mechs and 240 dollar clanpacks. As someone who has played this game since open beta I can count on one hand the times I have actually spotted a "gold" mech ingame. They are as rare as unicorns. A goldskin mech is no different from a standard varient you can buy for cbills except for the paintjob and a 30% cbill bonus. I challenge the OP to call me a liar in this.. As far as the 240 dollar clanpack goes all of those mechs are available ingame for cbills. Yes, you can grind the credits by playing and not pay one single cent of real money and own them. As far as PTW hero mechs go the standard varients are almost always much better. There are literally hundreds of mechs to choose from all free to play and of different styles and power. Give the game a shot. You dont have to spend a dime and can judge for yourself.

Uhmmm...a lot of that was from IGP and not PGI. They have changed their cost structure for the new 'Mechs and your post is irrelevant in the present world.

Totally, now a mech only costs twenty US dollars instead of thirty.

Of course, you'll need to then play something like one hundred more games if you want to get two other variants of that mech so that you can 'elite' it, which gives you a big bonus to your rate of fire, cooling, etc.

Don't worry, friends, this is totally NOT a system that makes you an underpowered target as you grind up cash in an attempt to get you to spend $80 on a mech pack. :)

you get 12.5 million cbills from the first 25 matches not counting the earnings you would get without the bonus *which if you were making just 100k on average would be 2.5 million* and you get 5 million cbills for getting gold in the Academy, which you honestly should do before playing vs people.

That equates to 20 million cbills, enough to buy any mech in the game, including the biggest and baddest of clan mechs.

Also as for buying mechs with real money, the 20 dollars gets you 3 mechs, not one.

Actually most of the mech packs are reasonable value compared to some of the games I've played.

The !S packs at $80 Includes 4 tiears one for each weaight class at $20 a tier. Each tier gives you 3 sometimes 4 mechs plus extras that get bigger the more tiers you get and the earlier you buy. So each tier it's about $7 dollars per mech minus what the extras would of cost.
Clan Packs cost $30 a tier so it's like $10 per mech minus what the extras would of cost.

I've played some Free to Play gamres that charge 20-30 dollars for a single vehicle.

Though generally I would suggest you wait for sales to buy any hero mechs or camos as they are abit pricey and only become reasonalbe during sales which usually vary from 25-50% off.

that's odd, the cbills handed out at the end of the cadet bonus show me that a player can buy 1-2 IS mechs of any shape or size they like.

Are you implying that every IS mech in the game is a "bad one"?
