In this particular case we recommend using 3rd party voice chat applications (e.g. TeamSpeak, Discord, Ventrillo, Mumble etc.)
I understand. Any chance of adding it in a future patch? Rec Room is able to do cross platform VOIP. Not trying to nag, I love the game. Just saying positional audio really enhances the experience and makes it more immersive.
i realise the post is a bit old, but you could try running it on the vive using revive, so your friends game thinks he has an oculus and you might be able to talk to each other.
Hi, I would like to ask you , how did you manage to connect ? I have the rift store version and my friend has the vive steam store version, and the connect by ip adress option doesn't work for either of us, ( me connecting to his ip and vice versa )
did you unlock ports or something extra to make it work ??
Thanks in advance for any help.

It is not true.
You will lose drops in frame rate when you have other programs running. The only way to get the smoothest frames for your VR is to shut down everything else. This is a reason why I hate these 3rd party accessory apps. And whatever else they install on your computer.
I am running an Alienware R3 13 with GTX 1060, 16gb ram, 7700hq, accompanied by a rift with 4 sensors and a TB16 hub.
