Locomotion Patch broke many things
I love AS and I was eager to try the "natural" locomotion but I am very disappointed with the quality of the latest update

Since the patch I've had a significant drop in performance. I now get a lot of missed frames. I've completed the game twice before this patch so I've seen all the zones and it was flawless before, on the exact same settings.

Now I often see my VR loading zone pop up over the game. This is a major flaw as it is nauseating and immersion killing.

Lightning is somehow very buggy since the patch. Light clips through objects, shadows make 0 sense, light and dark areas are extreme (I'm either blinded or I can't see anything...) this is especially obvious in the refinery where the spotlights are now very weird looking.

I've also encountered a ton of popping. Objects appear and disappear all the time. I've tried changing the render distance but nothing helps. Seriously there wasn't a moment in-game, since the patch, that did not have popping. How can this possibly have passed through quality assurance??

In my 2 previous play-through of the game I had seen 0 object appear or disappear. Now at any given point in the game I can see dozens flashing in and out of existence, textures appearing and disappearing, shadows flickering etc

the sound bug is back, contrary to what the patch notes claim. Except now it's not my guns that become mute it's the zombies or the narrator that become silent.

All of these new bugs really highlight a glaring flaw of this game: it's impossible to change settings on the fly. You have to load back into the trailer to change anything. This is especially aggravating when trying to fine tune the locomotion (something every single player will have to do at least once) or when trying to improve performance. It takes, at the very least, 1 minute to change any setting. It is a very frustrating experience.

Your patch is bad and you should feel bad

One more gripe with the patch:

the walking speed is SO SLOW
it is a snail's pace

the zombies crawl faster than you walk. How does that make any sense?? Rotten corpses, dragging themselves on the ground outpace the player's walking speed.

-_-

Just reduce ss to about 1.25 on a 1080 and shadow cascades to 2, they changed something fundamental with unity, it still looks miles better than before.

increase the LOD quality and dont ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complain about performance if you are super sampling, the games meant to run well at 1.0 and nothing more. I havent been able to play past 1.3 SS and everything maxed out since day one. Make sure youre not super sampling in game AND in advanced settings as then its multiplied and ♥♥♥♥♥ perfomance.

Is there no way to increase the speed? Seems like a terrible Idea to put it slower than zombies, making it essentially useless.

Before the patch I ran the game on high settings and 1.2 SS
now on low with 1.0SS I get ♥♥♥♥ performance

but none of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ matters because I'm pointing out a performance drop due to a software update. My rig has nothing to do with this. The performance of the game decreased after the patch. Lighning is now buggy, textures are also broken

Got a 10x0 series card? There seems to be an engine problem with this series of cards according to another Unity engine driven game. So just wait until it gets fixed. It runs fine for me with a 970 GTX by the way.

Im running a 1070 with a 6700......i only get minor graphical issues very seldom like light shimmering the whole zombies body....really thats about the worst of it for me.......

My SS is set to 1.20...... lod is 200 .....textures max.......shadow distance 50......cascade 2.......only when about 5or 6 zombies are right in my face with explosions going off does my framerate fart for a second.....but quickly recovers
