Many of the more balanced critical and user reviews reflect this sentiment. Short, trite, and grows tiresome. I'll wait for the 5 dollar discount sale to check out the initial hype. It appears to have been overrated in Steam reviews, because of its basic appeal rather than those who've actually played it.

Take away the controversy and what seperates this from any other twin stick shooter? Yeah the physics are pretty cool but it's still just a standard twin stick shooter

Basically, this is one of the most over rated games I've ever seen :P Not that it's a bad game, just way, WAY over hyped by the masses

The game is just Postal on steroids. The devs were obvious fans, I don't know what you expect. You probably never have played Postal either and would consider that boring too. FYI GTA V is a whole other level of boring by the way.

How comes people see this as the most violent game ever? Did they never play Postal, Manhunt, Bulletstorm, Borderlands, Madworld (, even "Attack of the killer swarm") or basically any other shooter? I took a look at some of the executions. Its either stabbing or shooting someone. So? Seen that all before. Well, sure, its violent. But the heck, violence has been in games since 76's Death Race. So what's the hype again?

Considering that most of the SP features and several others featured in previous GTA titles were scrapped out to become MP exclusive and that Rockstar attempted to prevent modding in GTA V to keep the MP more attractive only so they could easily sell their shark cards... I won't even mention the boring and rushed over the top singleplayer campaign which was falsely adverted as being focused on heists while in reality the game is all about being a FBI ♥♥♥♥♥...

because none of those games put true/real human emotion into it. Keep in mind, hatred has innocents literally begging for their lives like a real human would right before execution, thats what sets this apart from any of the games mentioned.
