it's because they hate what humans have become and they constantly give hints about it through out the game, that's the litteraly only explaination. They mention it in the opening...remember? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=453521140 and they think of this entire thing as a "mission" not a "killing spree" as it clearly is. So, they think they are doing good by killing all these people, whom there only reasons to be killed are being Greedy, Gluttonious, and etc. They say like one or 2 lines from time to time hinting this, But, this is the first time they give you a hint at there mind process of all of this. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=453521190

What is the meaning of life?
Most people don't really know, they base it on the senses we use to perceive what we think is reality, the experiences, people, places and things we touch. All of it is just information that we are allowed to experience via the sentient being we call a body, with out this energy or "soul" the body dies and without the body we can't perceive the reality that is for us.
How do you measure the value of life when you don't even really know what it is or if it is even real?
