AK47 (1947 model) uses 7.62x39 cartridge
M16 uses 5.56x45 cartridge
I wish you could find a AK in every level...
I like the AK more than the M16 ( because of the sound and look )
Likely to add a certain "realism" factor to the setting.
The game is set in the United States, AK rifles are not commonly available to civilians for personal ownership over there unless specifically imported in some way nor are they standard issue to branches of the US Army. Having the M16 as the standard assault rifle makes a lot of sense since virtually every branch of the US military and paramilitary are at one point of another issued M16.
In reality though the M16 is already slowly and steadily being totally replaced by the multipurpose M4 carbine by both military and paramilitary forces.
Sorry for the resurrect of this discussion but I just needed to know this.
-AK-47 shoots slightly slower than M16 (insignificant difference) and even slower when the AI handles it;
-The AK-47 shots disappear closer from the shooting point than the M16 shots;
-AK-47 deals slightly more damage per shot, but it's a tiny difference;
