"Nothing is planned, to be honest. Everyone (including my board), for the last years, are on my ass to make Hatred 2. And they're all right, as it would be very profitable for us, even if we made the game as small as the first one. But this is where I'm happy to be the CEO and the final decision is mine. Hatred was done with a purpose, more than just money. And I don't see any purpose in making the sequel. Except money, but that's not enough for me. I do games since I was 7 (and was modding the ♥♥♥♥ out of Wolfenstein 3D back then) and money was never a factor in my creation process. Except obvious costs the development needs, of course."
well that is heart breaking.
Guy had a reason to make the game and he stuck with it and doesnt wanna become another company focused solely on money.
Now sure, I personally want a Hatred 2. But tbh I think itd cool that a dude said no to the clear and obvious cash grab despite the world around him demanding it because he actually has principles and he FOLLOWS them.
Do you even know the reason why Hatred can't be compared?
MC is an absolute sociopath who wants to kill the most of humans before his death... In comparison, IP like Synthetik and so on are just PEGI3 games.
the Reason Hatred 2 will never be a thing is not because of "corporate cash grab" but because of the reason this game solely existed to kickstart destructive creation in the gaming market. the publicity done them well and that was the entire plan behind it. that ceo explanation is just meaningless bs.
Im pretty sure their next game will eb something like that... The new logo looks like a fantasy game. I hope you play in heaven / hell and kill demons / angels. I'd really like that.
no, the CEO is right, Hatred has a message and a sequal wouldnt bring the same on the table. He could only do it for the money but than it would srsly just a lame-ass shooter with no real meaning behind it.
srsly, think about it.
