Resolution issue - stuck on black screen
Hi! I'm running Windows through Fusion on a Mac, and tried lowering the resolution (was getting some slowness). As it turns out, the resolution I selected is not supported by my Windows installation (oopsie), so now whenever I launch the game, I just get a black screen, and therefore can't change the resolution back. How can I restore the default resolution?

Tried poking around in the files to see if the settings were somewhere obvious and I could just wipe them out, but no luck :/

Try holding down the Alt key immediately after opening the game. This should give you a dialog that will allow you to set the resolution that the game will be launched in.

Please let me know if you're still having trouble after trying this!

I have the same problem, also on fusion on a mac. But the alt thing is not working. Is it possible to fix it with the launch options in steam?
I also tried to delete the game and server data but this is not working at all.

Please help. There is (not) a bomb ticking here...

Hi there. For those who just recently started having this problem, please try switching back to the older 1.0.1 version of he game to see if that addresses the problem. Here's how you can do this:

1.Navigate to your games list in Steam (select: Games -> View Game Library)
2.Right click on Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes in your list of games and choose "Properties"
3.Select the "BETAS" tab
4.Opt into the "1.0.1" beta

Please post back here to let us know if that fixes the problem for you so we'll know if it was a problem introduced in the most recent update.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Windows 10 here. The Alt thing is a no-go, as is Opting into the beta.

game would launch but would go black before I get to inputting the verification code. Sounds are still present when I move the mouse around, but no image.

Edit: Solved the problem.

Teamviewer, a screen sharing + remote access program was running in the background. This program has also caused problems for me with Company of Heroes and at least one other game.

Double Edit: Problem came back again after quitting and reloading once. Will keep troubleshooting,

Triple Edit: Problem disappeared and hasn't resurfaced after multiple relaunches. Seems like Teamviewer was the sole culprit at least in my case but I also disabled AMD's recording software

It sadly didn't work for me, it just black screens after a couple of seconds, I can also open the steam overlay so I know its not my pc.

Hmm, most black screen issues are related to some type of overlay or FPS counter. Please follow all the instructions found on our troubleshooting page[www.keeptalkinggame.com] and send us an email with the logs if you still can't find the source of the problem. (On the troubleshooting page, you will find instructions on how to disable the AMD's Raptr Gaming Evolved overlay, which is one of the more common overlays to cause this problem).

Steam has a built-in FPS counter that can be enabled. This fixed my issue.

Thank you! That is weird though that it does that... I had to search through out the entire forum to find this solution.

Hot damn, a 4 year old necro. Glad it fixed the issue for you though.

This continues to be an awesome game (and effective relationship tester).
