My point was that my log's folder was empty.
I resolved my problem with uninstall and re-install.
At time, the game are doing all happy here.
Nothing error or failure.
I'll to continue report for you any problem, ok?
Thanks.
I tested it on the following Mac:
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)
3.5 GHz Intel Core i5
12 GB RAM
256 GB SSD
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB
I set the resolution to 2560x1440 (half the actual retina resolution). This was the max resolution available. With 8x AA it looks fine. But maybe add an option for resolutions up until the native display res would be a nice option?
Works great, could not get it to fail/show bugs. Framerate good, sound good. iMac did start it's fan. I did not think the game was that 3D heavy, but maybe I'm wrong. :-)
Now that you have a Mac code base, maybe an iOS version is not far off? iPad would work very well too I think.
UniquePerspective: Can you tell me what kind of mouse you're using and also whether you experience the same problem when using the touchpad?
There is a problem in the game with the wire modules, in version 1 for 6 wires it says "if there are no yellow wires and the serial number is odd, cut the third wire" but it does actually require you to cut the third wire only if there are yellow wires, whereas if none are present this would actually result in a strike; so uh... just letting you know there's a tiny glitch there.
* iMac late 2013, , 1GB VRAM, GT750M - almost problem free. Had a minor hiccup, where there book with the list of bombs would show as a rotating object after a bomb completion..but I could turn it around and click the button to continue.
* MBP late 2008, 256MB VRAM, 9600M almost problem free. Got switched to the OS once but the game continued in the background and simply switching to the game. No problem
-- observations --
* keyboard input doesn't work (yet?) - except for "Esc" key
* no steam cloud sync - had to start over, not a problem you can always have more training in defusing bombs ;)
* cursor got overplayed with Mac OS cursor once (I think it was because I switched to the messages app)
But all minor things. Looking great so far!
Thank you all so much for reporting your findings with the early Mac OS X version! You're all fantastic and awesome! :)
It looks like there are a few issues we will need to address in an update, but we've found that most players are able to play the game without any problems on Mac OS X -- So we've decided to make this new version live and available to everyone.
Have fun!
Allen
It crashes on launch, quite a lot.
There seem to be three different stages of this, which consistently happen in this order after a reboot:
First, it crashes to desktop immediately on launch.
Secondly, the splash screen appears for a moment then crashes to desktop
Third, the splash screen freezes with "LOADING" in the corner.
What happens is the first, then the second, then the third (which I have to force quit), then it either works or does the third again.
Once it's running, it seems to work flawlessly (two bombs into "needy" at the moment).
Awesome game but needs a frame limiter... running at 400+ fps on a MacBook 15" retina running ElCapitan, even in the Menu.
If I disable 2d acceleration via Quartz Debug it runs at 25-40 fps and keeps the GPU cool. But it took quite some digging on how to solve the heat issue (also makes playing on battery near impossible) and since Beam Sync (VSinc on a Mac) cannot be forced via Quartz Debug since ElCapitan was introduced disabling 2D acceleration is the only way to keep the GPU cool.
So since the game has had an update forcing Vsync (1.1.0 I belive) I think El Capitan broke that mechanic. Introducing a frame limiter would help a great deal as not everyone is aregistered developer (Quartz Debug needs Xcode which you can only access as a dev)
I found that 60fps are not really a necessity to play the game, 25-30 fps were enough to play it
Love the game :) Thanks for the hard work!!!!!!
Game crashes on launch. Never got it to play yet. Sometimes crashes immediately back to desktop. Sometimes shows the spash screen for a second and crashes back to desktop. Sometimes goes to all black and is non-responsive until I force quit. Sometimes shows the splash screen with Loading in the corner and is non-responsive until I force quit. I emailed support yesterday with 3 log files attached and a screen shot of the error message and haven't heard back yet.
