I would love you.
I think this would totally ruin the fun and challenge of this game, like pretty much all cheats do...
Yes that is true, however it could be fun to use as a prank which is what I intend.
Also, I have ideas that could keep the challenge and fun, but maybe for another version.
This program will do most of the manual usage for you. You would initially put in basic bomb information, such as the serial code, number of batteries, lit labels, and ports. You would then be able to choose a module from a menu (Needy modules being available at all points from a seperate menu). You would have to input any relevant data (however it's not all labelled clearly), the system would then briefly tell you what to do.
This will use names and phrases used by the manual in one way or another, therefore you will struggle if you have no recollection of the manual terms.
When I first read your post, I thought it was a fun programming excercise ;) As a programming excercise, this is a very fun and practical situation... I just don't see the practical use for it, apart from cheating... But that could be me, don't be discouraged by my opinion ;)
Well feedback is what I asked for, and that is what you have provided me with, so thanks. Also I have partial agreement with your final statement. However I see a small margin of practical use for it.
As long as I have atleast one or a few people interested I will continue with making this, it's quite frankly more complicated than I expected! I couldn't ask for anything more (except for less errors? haha)
Certainly we all could make notes on the bomb manual and create our own little ciphers, but doesn't that defeat some of the purpose of having all that added stress that chips away at communication, and ultimately helps establish the intensity of this collaborative exercise?
Yes very true, however as I have stated previously it could be used as a prank to make your partner think you are a pro at reading the manual.
And as Liro suggested, helping people to diffuse multiple bombs at once can add more fun, challenge, and purpose in
As many say yes this is cheating but i don't intend to use it in play. Its a fun project to solve some computational problems.
Writing a morse code decoder is quite a challenge from scratch for example.
Here's some screenshots:

Maybe i'll release it maybe i wont. I still have the majority of modules to solve computationally though. :( then begins testing... I wouldn't want it to be wrong.
EDIT: I finished complex wires tonight,
Gonna need to add blue white and red white even though the white can be ignored in candy stripe wires.

Let me know if you want to talk strategy when it comes to mazes, wire sequence and morse code.
I have spent the last few days working on the maze module and just finished it now! I would be interested to know about your approach to the maze module as I had a fair amount of problems haha
Also, from the screenshots I can say that yours has a more user-friendly UI than mine haha
Here is a list of my currently completed modules: Wires, The Button, Keypads, Who's on First, Memory, and Mazes.
And the same goes to you, if you want to talk about algorithms or whatever just say.
