I don't know about anyone else, but I found the original diagram faster than the flow chart.

If you communicate efficiently, it's much quicker than the Venn useless you are a genius who can look at a venn diagram and find out if you should cut the wire or not in seconds.

Expert has 2 say 4 words. "Red?" "No" "Blue?" "Yes" "Star?" "No" "LED?" "Yes" And there you have the answer. With the Venn you might lose track of what has already been said. The flow chart you simply put your finger on and follow it.

You can do the same with the Venn diagram. The only reason a flow chart may seem preferable to the Venn diagram provided in the manual is because the flow chart looks far less imposing, and since our minds follow a linear chain of thoughts, it's also easier to read at a first glance. However, when you're accustomed to the Venn diagram, it's just as easy to do everything you've enumerated with it (and, unlike what you think, it's easier to not make errors with the Venn diagram than with the flow chart because a Venn diagram works with regions).

Or maybe.. just don't waste the time with useless information? Say things like redstar, starlight, redbluestarlight etc.

"redstar" obviously means theres no light and no blue.

This is like telling ur expert that it is a white wire. If u do that, congratulations, u just wasted a couple seconds :)

Pretty sure it's easier to say 4 words each than 2 words and spend 10 seconds searching.

Well, the easiest way is to use ECHtoplasm guide:

WHITE - CUT
WHITE STAR - CUT
WHITE LED - DO NOT CUT
WHITE STAR LED - CUT if there's TWO OR MORE BATTERIES

BLUE - CUT if the serial number ends with an EVEN DIGIT
BLUE STAR - DO NOT CUT
BLUE LED - CUT if the bomb has a PARALLEL PORT
BLUE STAR LED - CUT if the bomb has a PARALLEL PORT

RED - CUT if the serial number ends with an EVEN DIGIT
RED STAR - CUT
RED LED - CUT if there's TWO OR MORE BATTERIES
RED STAR LED - CUT if there's TWO OR MORE BATTERIES

RED BLUE - CUT if the serial number ends with an EVEN DIGIT
RED BLUE STAR - CUT if the bomb has a PARALLEL PORT
RED BLUE LED - CUT if the serial number ends with an EVEN DIGIT
RED BLUE STAR LED - DO NOT CUT

That is a great way :3 I still prefer the flow chart though since you don't look at all of the possibilities if you follow it along.

I find the flow chart slower because it requires more information than it should and requires multiple steps per wire. It's much easier to tell the expert ONLY the information he needs (such as blue + red) and let said expert look at the diagram. I personally find the Venn diagram easier as it's purely visual and requires no iterative logics. It's easier to grasp all in one look. Find where the things you know to be true intersect, exclude portions of the things you know aren't true, you have the answer.
