3rd Party controller input issues
I sent the support email a message, but since it's Sunday they probably aren't working.
Here's a copy/paste of my email to them - in case any of you might understand whats wrong.

" I have a Oculus DK2, so that is why this is somewhat urgent.
My controller is a 3rd party xbox 360 controller. It works in every other game (GTA V, Fallout, etc.), but does not seem to work correctly in KTANE.
The issue: buttons seem somewhat unresponsive, but still work. Lets say I need to switch to another wire - i use the down on D-Pad or left-thumbstick and it might go down. Sometimes buttons will work, sometimes not.
As you can probably figure, this makes it impossible to work with under a timed environment.
I have attached the logs requested from the support page. In the ktane.log, we can see that it sees it as an unknown device and then "changes" in the following line. The changing after every line is probably why the input either works or not.
I have the xbox controller drivers I believe, as it works in all other games."

------

Here's what the ktane log says (repeatedly)

INFO 2015-10-11 17:21:35,582 [KTInputManager] Active device: XInput Controller (XInput Controller #0) [Supported] [Platform: WINDOWS 7 SERVICE PACK 1 (6.1.7601) 64BIT AMD FX(TM)-8350 EIGHT-CORE PROCESSOR (16282 MB)]

I am having this same issue as well and am also using a DK2...

Same issue along with the same issue appearing g in the logs when the controller becomes unresponsive. The controller itself uses the same drivers and a normal 360 controller in Windows.

Have also tried 306ce with no improvement, other discussion here:

Hey. I actually found a fix that may help you. Works fine for me.
When the game is launched, showing on dk2, and controller is plugged in: Make it so that game isn't "selected". This could be done perhaps by having another tab (like google chrome or something open in front of the game). I have multiple monitors, so i usually just launch it, change primary monitor, and then be done with it.
So try that. Let me know if it helps.

We're testing out a change to our controls library, we're not sure if it can help your specific issue, but we would like to know whether it helps at all:

To get this hotfix you can take the following steps:

1.Navigate to your games list in Steam (select: Games -> View Game Library)
2.Right click on Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes in your list of games and choose "Properties"
3.Select the "BETAS" tab
4.Opt into the "hotfix" branch

Hey Brian, I just tested the hotfix. Everything seemed to work nicely except for the right stick - which is pretty strange.
Looking at the logs, I still see the active device changing after every line, but in game everything still worked except for the right stick (correctly at least. Attempting to turn the bomb has a similar problem to what i was previously experiencing.)

The hotfix half solved the issue. Buttons are now like 99% responsive. The only problem that keeps popping up fairly often is using the right stick to rotate or look around, and it only seems to appear if the stick is completely held all the way into one direction, as if the analog goes over +-1.00 and when that happens the game sets it to 0.00. I'm using Speedlink Strike FX game pads and tried four different ones that all suffer from this issue and I am not using an oculus. Using the hotfix the game is playable, thank you for that option.

So the hotfix makes things better with the exception of the right stick.

Funnily enough, with the workaround listed above it works perfectly.

Hey everyone, I'd like to let you know that the hotfix changes, version 1.0.1, have now been included in the default non-beta. You can safely switch back to "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" under the BETAS tab for the game.
