Microphone Issues?
Whenever I try to play the game, my friends on skype can't hear me. It's like the game mutes my mic. What's even stranger is that even when I quit the game, I still remain muted in skype. Does anyone else have this problem?

Try going into your mic settings on skype

curretnly having this issue, it cuts all sound out even after i close the game. I have to unplug my headset and plug it back in.

I would like to add that a when I first started playing, there was a buzzing that affected all sources of audio (itunes, youtube, etc), but after reinstalling the game, the sounds were gone.
Not sure if this is what is going on with you, but I remember having a weird issue with skype in another game. For me it was because I was using my HDMI cable for my monitor and the sound automatically routed through that. The fix was strangely enough just to plug in a pair of headphones or something into my regular audio port then go to the windows sound setting and choose that one as default.

Go into your mixer settings and turn this off[screencast.com]. It's meant to drop your output volume when you're talking to someone, but I've found it often mangles volume settings for, well, everything else most of the time instead.

If you don't know how to get to these settings, here's a short clip to show you.[screencast.com] (for Windows 7, and 8 using the desktop)

Same here; I tried to play this with friends on google hangouts and over mumble, and both time, the mic would cut out about a minute in to defusal.

These are not the issues that I'm having. The sound cuts out for everything on my pc. It does not come back until i close the game, unplug my headset and replug it back in.

Hi everyone, I'm terribly sorry to hear about these mic/sound issues. There are a number of things at play: Voice chat app, Windows sound mixer and audio devices, and audio drivers. It seems like each of you might be having slightly different behaviour as well...

I suspect that most of these problems would also occur in other games as well, so please try voice chat using the same voice chat app you're having problems with in another game and see if the problem reproduces: This will help us know if it's something to do with our game specifically or if it's a problem that happens with all games on your computer.

If the problem is not happening with all games, but is definitely specific to Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, then we would love to help you resolve the problem. You can find details on how to contact us and what logs we'll need here: http://www.keeptalkinggame.com/troubleshooting/

If the problem is happening with other games, please continue the discussion here... The idea that draeath had sounds like it could be a good thing to try. Remember to jot down the initial setting before changing it so that you can change it back if you find that the problem is not resolved.

I suspect there may be some issues relating to audio drivers and additional audio device configuration software.

Thanks for letting us know about the problems, and please keep us posted with what you discover.

I second that, it does sound like a global (setting or driver) issue, and not specific to the game.

One thing you can try is setting Skype to run in compatibility mode (in properties) and run it as administrator (in the right click menu). Ever since UAC was implemented, sometimes VOIP apps just get blocked out when you run things fullscreen.

Honestly? It sounds -exactly- like one of the issues what I suggested should fix. Did you try it?

I'll try out different games in order to see if the issue comes up anywhere else, but this is the first game I've seen this issue.

The idea posted by draeath does sound like a good idea. Also, I remembered there was an old topic where somebody resolved a similar issue: http://steamcommunity.com/app/341800/discussions/1/481115363875492933/

Update on my end; I tried Draeth's fix with no luck, and I also tried another couple of games with the same chat programs (both mumble and google hangouts). Small World 2, The Jackbox, and Quiplash all worked fine, but whenver I try to play Keep talking, that's when I have issues.

It's actually strange. There's no problem when I launch the game, or at the menu, or loading screen after I select a bomb, but once the actual game begins, my my audio for the chat vanishes, and they can no longer hear me. Once I quit the game, everything is fine again, no need to reset, unplug, etc.

I'll take a look at the website tomorrow and see what I need to do to send a log. Anything I can do to help, I love this game and want to show it to my mumble group.

On that same note, thanks for taking the time to reply, Allen.
